Please Stand By

Hey everyone,

Hell Raiser Radio is by no means discontinued or anything like that. As I said a couple posts ago, our plates are very full and school takes priority. We do plan on doing the show this week however, and will be sure to upload it Thursday or Friday. Thanks for understanding.

Good evening once again,

A little late this week, but you gotta do what you gotta do. Plates are full here at HRR.

Track List:

Bruce Dickinson – Chemical Wedding
Iron Maiden – The Reincarnation of Benjamin Breeg
Kyuss – Thong Song
Nirvana – Breed
Between the Buried and Me – Sun of Nothing
Stone Temple Pilots – Meat Plow
Opeth – Dirge for November (Metal Fatality)

Have a week,

HRR 10-9-07: The Royal Family of Desert Rock (Part 1)

Hello True Believers,

Another week, another show. I have to say, however, that this show is much better than the last, so comment if you like it. Tell your friends. Save a puppy. Say no to drugs. For those of you that have done so, your support is priceless.

Anyway, I've decided to include the track listing for the show in the blog updates. It can't hurt, and that way you can preview what you're going to hear before you download it. I'll do each half individually.

This week we talk about Mitch Hedberg, Adam Sandler movies, Malcolm McDowell, Kevin Smith’s horror film Red State, Vin Diesel vs. The Rock, and professional wrestling with special guest Andrew Irvin. On Sunday we have Fed's review of Between the Buried and Me's "Colors" and our Scumbags of the Week: Axl Rose and Bret Michels.

This first half includes:

Children of Bodom – Angels Don’t Kill
Between the Buried and Me – Informal Gluttony
AC/DC – Have a Drink on Me
Monster Magnet – Powertrip
Trivium – Becoming the Dragon
Soundgarden – Fresh Tendrils
The Toadies – Backslider
Apocalyptica – Prologue (Apprehension)

Rock On.

HRR 10-02-07: Brutal.

hellraiserradio@gmail.com

This is our email address. Please, god, email us. We beg of you. We wan't to know how you feel about the show; things we should change, things we should add, things we should drop, etc. That's the first step in improving.

Anyway, for those of you who listen, and thank you for that, the new episode is up. Unfortunately due to a recording error, 45 minutes of the show was lost and this episode will be 1 podcast only. We're sorry about this, but we're looking into other recording methods, so hopefully it wont happen again. Thank you for the patience.

As for the show, we review Dethklok's Dethalbum and Arch Enemy's Rise of the Tyrant, so be sure to listen for that, as well as a few tracks off those albums. Special guest Andrew Irvin also appears and we talk about Oldboy, cigars, and pirate jokes.

Please give us some feedback, I'll mail you a $5 dollar bill if you do.

Sincerely,

Alex T. Humpleburger

HRR 9-25-07: Enter the Sand Man (Parts 1 & 2)

Sorry about being so late with the updates. The new show is up, with special guest Ghurinder displaying his (lack of) knowledge about rock. Pretty funny stuff. Later on we have a review of Resident Evil: Extinction, and the new albums of the Foo Fighters and As I Lay Dying. Tune in next week when we will have reviews of the new Dethklok and Arch Enemy albums.

If you haven't subscribed, search for us on itunes or google. We're pretty easy to find. And please. Leave feedback. It's a kick to our balls without it.

HRR 9-18-07: Sloppy Seconds (Part 1)

The second, and this time full length, podcast is up. Join us as we discuss OJ Simpson, Bioshock, Nintendo 64, Heroin, and the FCC. The second half of our two hour show will be uploaded on Sundays for future reference.

And notice there is no more buzzing in the talking segments. Don't know how we pulled that one off.

We somehow got approved for iTunes' Podcast Directory, which will make subscribing 100% easier. You won't be able to search for us for a few days, but you can find us at http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?id=264370371 (copy and paste into your browser URL bar if link doesn't work) for now, as long as you have iTunes. Feel free to review us, but make sure that whatever you say, you have the balls to say to our face! Honestly though, review us as you see fit.

Talk about surprising...

People have been downloading the podcast like crazy, at least according to the hosting site we use, but there seems to be no feedback from anyone. No emails, myspace comments, blog comments...it's kind of shady... like maybe Switchpod is trying to make me feel they do a good job and downloading it themselves.

Anyway, my point is that if you are listening to the podcast, or visiting this blog, or myspace, or whatever, pretty pretty please with dandruff on top send us an email at hellraiserradio@gmail.com or leave a comment on this blog post and tell us what you think. I understand that there's only been one show thus far, but if it's getting downloaded, people are hearing it. Feedback is is our fuel.

Sincerely, Alejandro P. Garcia

I've submitted the podcast to iTunes podcast directory, hopefully they don't reject us like so many others.

But seriously, I'll be sure to update when and if they accept us.

Love you all,

The Metalocalypse Has Begun

Dear fascists,

Please forgive me for calling you fascists. I just like the sound of it.

Hell Raiser Radio is proud to present to you their show in podcast form for the first time. This is by no means our first show, but you wouldn't be able to tell that from the quality, so please forgive the slight buzzing during the talking segment as well. We'll definitely work on that for next time. The next show will also be far more complete, including an intro and all that hip college radio jazz that all the coeds love.

For those of you who don't know, Hell Raiser is hosted by myself, myself being Alex, and my droog, roommate, and fellow muscian Fed. We broadcast from Rutgers-Newark, on WRNU 103.9. The station is currently undergoing a few major changes and we thought podcasting would be a good way to reach outside the broadcasting confines of Newark. We listen to, play, and love heavy metal, hard rock, and grunge. So if you like those things, give the show a shot. It's free after all, and who doesn't love free.

Without further ado,

First Post

Faithful, nonexistent fans of Hell Raiser Radio,

Welcome to the beginning of a major facelift, Gene Simmons' daughter crying style. For those who don't know what I'm talking about, buy the lastest season of Gene Simmon's Family Jewels on DVD and you'll see the kind of facelift I'm talking about.

Anyway, we're trying to expand our fanbase, and Fed and I realized we can't do that with our current meak college radio standards. Podcasting is the way to go, for multiple reasons, but those are obvious and I won't get into them. I've created this blog as a companion piece to the podcast, to keep you updated on our incredibily busy schedules with drugs, hookers, homelessness, and education... SO KEEP CHECKING IT!!!! PCHTAAAAWWW!

Thanks sweetie pies...
